What a shame that feelgood moments are in decline – that’s what we found out this morning – research has shown that they’ve declined by two a week in the last year - Can you believe that? or maybe we have higher expectations on what we need to feel good.
So instead of the odd comment ‘you look good today’ which would have sufficed a year ago, it would now have to be along the lines of ‘you look good today, that top really matches your eyes and brings out the colour of your hair, where did you get it from?’ a little OTT for my liking…
What this kind of survey should do is make us take stock of the simple things in life; the sun being out, sitting in your garden on a Summer’s night, (as I think PG said) the smell of freshly cut grass or the beauty of the Surrey & Hampshire countryside. In fact just to smile at a stranger can make someone feel good – obviously not like a Cheshire cat as you may begin to scare people but just enough for it to be infectious.
That’s my pledge for today; to smile a lot – it will not only make someone else feel good but it may well cheer me up too! Is that too sickly sweet? oh well…
Keep smiling…
