Hello/Goodbye

Hello Everyone!

Just want to thank you all for having me on the breakfast show over the past 2 weeks.
As you know, I’m not really a morning person but do enjoy my odd stint on breakfast. Just don’t tell PG that! Speaking of the big man... He is of course back on Monday morning, fresh from his important business that he’s been looking after. I’m sure you’ll hear all about it when he gets back.

My attempt to hide the fact that the Mystery Voice was won this week has been difficult. In fact within 2 hours, PG was on the phone wanting blood! I conveniently disappeared!
Half term week and thank you to everyone that has been involved with the show in one way or another. Whether you took part in a competition or got in touch for the fun topics of the morning. Some of my favourites included reminiscing about Secret Squirrel, Batfink, Mighty Mouse and Hong Kong Fuey!
We discussed band/singers names made out of food with hilarious consequences! Favourites included Cilla Black Pudding, Susan Boyled Egg, Lemar-mite and Piccalilli Allen!

Did you know that by law you must not hail a taxi while it’s in motion and all Hackney Carriages must have a bale of hay in the back at all times? It’s one of the many silly laws that were discussed this week. Thanks for your suggestions.

Besides the above we mused on such drivel as whether it’s acceptable to eat 6 fish fingers in one sitting. Things the Japanese do to relieve while boredom in the toilet, how one can update ones Facebook status from beyond the grave and the merits of a mandarin cheesecake.

You can re-live the above (although why you would want to is beyond me) via the breakfast show podcast! Special Thanks to Producer Tom for making it sound so great!

Enjoy your weekend!

Sundays. Best day of the week?

What do you do with your Sunday? For many of us it is a "real" day off, more often than not these days because Saturday has become a "buffer" day - still work to be done for many, jobs get done around the house and home that weren't done during a busy week etc etc. So Sunday is the day when - hopefully - you can have that big sigh as you wake up ( you know the one, that really goes deep into the lungs at the thought of no real pressing matters imminent). This is not the case for all, I know, but you get my point. Of course for us radio gang, weekends during the summer usually mean various local events that we pop up at.......so we occasionally do our fair share of "work" Sunday things too.

But today, as I write this, its a family day for me - "GWLTLO" (girl who left the lights on - see posts below...quite a way below....for explanation) is cleaning and cooking, family round for Sunday roast and perhaps a wander down to the park for a football kick around. The thing is, for me, that's what its all about - nothing big, nothing flashy.......just a bit of fun, food and football. Plus if you can add the "sun" into Sunday, that will always help.

I wish you well - whatever you choose to do.
